Below is a plain-language summary of how this line and website treat information today. It was written for this site, it is not legal advice, and no one has certified it as meeting any particular regulation.
Who runs the line
Water Damage Pro Houston, a d/b/a of Dominion Digital Group, runs waterdamageprohouston.com and the phone number published on it. It refers callers; it does not restore homes. Each caller is handed to an independent, locally owned water damage restoration company in greater Houston. On this page "the line" means Water Damage Pro Houston and "restoration company" means one of those independent businesses.
When you call
Calls are picked up by an automated assistant. It only knows what you tell it, which is usually:
- a name and a number for calling you back (the number you dial from is also visible to the phone system);
- the part of greater Houston the property is in;
- what went wrong, for example a burst pipe, flooding, a leaking roof or appliance, a sewage backup or mold, and whether water is still entering.
Like any phone service, the system can log when a call happened, how long it lasted and the calling number. The assistant condenses your answers into the recap the restoration company hears before it joins the call.
When you visit the website
There are no forms here and nothing on the site asks for personal details. The web host may record routine server data for each page request, such as the IP address, browser, page and time. Pressing the ES button loads Google's translation widget, which sets a small cookie to remember the language; that widget is covered by Google's own terms and privacy policy. As of the date above, the site runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
Why the information is used
- Routing your call to a restoration company that covers your area, along with a recap of the problem.
- Giving that company your name, number, area and problem when it misses the call, so it can phone you.
- Keeping the phone line and site running, secure and working better, and keeping ordinary business records.
- Complying with the law and with valid legal requests.
Information from calls is not sold.
Who gets it
Your call details go to the restoration company you are put through to. That company is a separate business, so after it receives them its own policies apply. The line also uses vendors for things like telephone service, call handling and web hosting; they handle the information only to provide those services.
Contact from the restoration company
The company you are connected with may phone or text you about the job. Its messaging, and how to stop it, are up to that company, so ask it directly.
How long records are kept
Call records are meant to be kept no longer than the line reasonably needs them for operating, handling follow-up questions and meeting legal or bookkeeping requirements, and to be guarded with sensible safeguards. Nothing sent over phone or internet networks is ever perfectly secure.
What you control
What you share on a call is your choice, and you can end the call whenever you like. If you want to know what the line kept from a call you made, or want it fixed or erased where the law gives you that right, phone (832) 662-4107 and leave the request. Questions about what a restoration company holds go to that company.
Children
This service is for adults handling damage to a home or building. It is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly gather their information.
Updates
If the line changes, this page may change too; the date at the top marks the version in force. The terms of use cover the rest.
